Frequently asked questions

Does Everyday Travel Insurance cover pre-existing medical conditions?

Everyday Travel Insurance covers a range of pre-existing medical conditions automatically, as long as you meet the eligibility criteria, with the full list available in their PDS.

If your medical condition isn’t listed, you can still apply for cover for your specific conditions and Everyday Travel Insurance will assess what cover they can offer you, which may come at an additional premium. However, keep in mind that adding pre-existing medical conditions to your policy is only available for comprehensive plans and that not all pre-existing conditions can be covered.

When does my Everyday Travel Insurance cover start?

Cover will begin on the start date of your policy, as listed on the Certificate of Insurance, and will continue until the end date of your policy.

How do I make a travel insurance claim with Everyday Insurance?

You can make a claim with Everyday Travel Insurance online through My Insurance Portal. Be sure to submit any supporting documents such as police reports, receipts or medical certificates when making your claim.

If you need urgent help, you can contact Everyday travel insurance for 24/7 emergency assistance on 1800 642 642 (within Australia) or +61 2 9692 4479 (overseas).

What is the excess on Everyday Travel Insurance?

The excess is the amount you pay towards a claim. With Everyday Travel Insurance, you can choose your excess amount, but be aware this will also affect your premium amount. If you’re receiving cover for any specified medical conditions, you’ll also have to pay an additional excess when claiming on expenses relating to your conditions.

Does Everyday Travel Insurance cover hire car excess?

Everyday Travel Insurance may include rental vehicles excess cover depending on your level of cover. If you would like to increase the level of cover for rental vehicle excess, then you can also purchase it as an optional extra for an additional premium.
