I saw your TV advertisement but am unclear as to how I can get a $100 eftpos card. What do I need to do?

To be eligible for the $100 eftpos card you must:

  • Call Compare the Market’s call centre on 1800 001 004; or on any other Compare the Market phone number and mention the offer
  • Purchase a combined hospital and extras policy
  • Make your first payment on the policy and serve your new health fund’s cooling-off period (approximately 45 days)

What type of policy do I need to purchase to be eligible for the $100 eftpos card?

To be eligible for the $100 eftpos card, you must purchase a combined hospital and extras policy.

Is the offer restricted to certain health funds?

No. All combined hospital and extras policies offered through Compare the Market’s call centre are included in this promotion.

Once I’ve purchased a combined hospital and extras policy, what happens next?

You will receive an email approximately 5 days after you complete your application. The email will contain all of the information you need to know about your eftpos card and how to claim. Before you can claim your card, you must serve your health fund’s cooling-off period and make your first payment which is approximately 45 days from the commencement date of your new policy.

What is the difference between the application date and commencement date?

The application date is the date you buy your policy, whereas the commencement date is the date your new policy begins. Your cooling-off period starts when your policy commences.

Why do I have to wait 45 days after the commencement date on my policy before I can claim my eftpos card?

You must serve the cooling-off period and make your first payment on your health insurance policy before you can claim your $100 eftpos card.

What if I cancel my policy?

If you cancel your policy during the cooling-off period, you will no longer be eligible for the $100 eftpos card.

How do I claim my eftpos card?

We will send you an email when your cooling-off period has passed and you are able to claim your eftpos card. You will need to have your welcome pack and policy number on hand to make your claim.

How long will my eftpos card take to process once I’ve submitted my claim?

Your eftpos card will take up to two weeks to be issued from the date you submitted your claim.

What should I do if I change my address before my card arrives?

You will be able to manually update your address details in the $100 deal claim form that we will email to you after you have served your cooling-off period (approximately 45 days after the commencement of your policy).

What should I do if my eftpos card doesn’t arrive?

Do I need to activate my card?

Yes. Your card must be activated before use.  To activate your card visit www.activ8card.com.au or call 1800 446 347 between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.

What can I use my eftpos card for?

You can use your eftpos card at any point of sale, from your local supermarket to petrol station. eftpos is Australia’s most widely used cards system, allowing electronic payments.
